Opening in early June 2011 under the name Dura-Bar Manufacturing (Changzhou) Co., Ltd., located about 100 kilometers from Shanghai, Dura-Bar's new Changzhou facility will ensure that manufacturers operating in China have ready access to the world's finest continuous cast iron bar stock. Continuous cast Dura-Bar is an excellent alternative to steel for in the manufacturing of machined components. Compared to steel, Dura-Bar permits faster machining speeds and feed rates, is 10% lighter, has superior vibration damping characteristics, and costs less to heat treat.
Dura-Bar products for the Chinese market will continue to be manufactured in the U.S. As such, Dura-Bar customers in China can be assured of the same level of quality, material consistency, and breadth of product line currently available to North American manufacturers. Also, as in the U.S., products supplied through the Changzhou warehouse will be sold with Dura-Bar's unique Zero-Defect Guarantee.
In addition to offering a wide range of Dura-Bar's various grades and sizes, the Changzhou facility will offer a number of value-added services, including saw cutting, milling, and grinding. A staff of bilingual sales engineers will be available to assist U.S. manufacturers with operations in China as well as domestic Chinese companies in selecting the best Dura-Bar product for the application involved.
